Tameme Chapbooks ~ Cuadernos celebrate and disseminate new writing and translation from Canada, the U.S., and Mexico in an attractive and affordable format. Tameme chapbooks are bilingual in side-to-side English/ Spanish. Each is approximately 32 pages and printed on quality acid-free paper.

For more about the chapbooks, and our first title, An Avocado from Michoacán / Carne Verde, piel negra, a short story by Mexican writer Agustín Cadena with an English translation by C.M. Mayo, please visit our catalog.

Payment to the author is $200 and 10 copies; payment to the translator is $75 per 1,000 words and 10 copies.

Submission Guidelines for Chapbook ~ Cuaderno #2:

Deadline: August 30, 2006

Send only original (previously unpublished) translations of contemporary literary Mexican poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction.

Please send no fewer than 10 and no more than 20 pages of translation (prose double spaced).

Include cover letter; both the translation and the original work; bios and contact information for both author and translator; a letter of permission from the author or publisher; and a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) for reply. No electronic submissions please.

Multiple submissions OK.
